Terms of Service

Please review these terms carefully before you join the waitlist or access the student portal.

1. Who we are

Become a Student Dev is operated by Codenecting V.O.F., a software company registered in the Netherlands ("Codenecting" , "we", or "us"). These Terms govern your access to the waitlist experience and any student resources made available through this site (the "Platform"). By signing up or using the Platform you agree to these Terms.

2. Eligibility and truthful information

  • You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into an agreement under Dutch law.
  • You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information in all interactions with Codenecting, including waitlist signups, profile details, and communications.
  • You represent that you are joining the Platform either as a student exploring opportunities or as an authorised representative of a company interested in future collaboration.

3. Scope of the Platform

The Platform currently offers waitlist registration for students and early informational updates. Project work, student engagements, and payments are handled separately through agreements between Codenecting and the relevant client or student. The Platform is a portal to access resources, not the environment where source code or production systems are hosted.

4. Acceptable use

  • Do not misuse the Platform, including attempting to gain unauthorised access, scraping, reverse engineering, or interfering with security features.
  • Do not submit unlawful, defamatory, infringing, or otherwise harmful content.
  • Treat other students, mentors, and partners with respect. Harassment, discrimination, or abusive behaviour is prohibited.

5. Waitlist and communications

By joining the waitlist you consent to receive launch updates and relevant opportunities via email. You may unsubscribe at any time. Do not submit confidential information through the waitlist form; any sensitive details should only be shared after a separate written agreement with Codenecting.

6. Confidentiality and NDAs

Client engagements and student assignments may require additional non-disclosure agreements. Until the appropriate NDA is in place, do not upload or disclose confidential materials through the Platform. Once an NDA is signed, you must follow all confidentiality obligations in that agreement in addition to these Terms.

7. Intellectual property

  • Student-created work is owned either by the client or by Codenecting, depending on the governing project agreement.
  • Students may showcase their work in portfolios only when the applicable agreement permits public references.
  • Participation in the Platform does not grant users ownership of Codenecting trademarks, branding, or internal tooling.

8. Platform availability

We aim to keep the Platform available, but it may occasionally be unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. The Platform provides access to resources and communication tools only; actual project tooling (source control, CI/CD, etc.) is hosted separately.

9. Fees and payments

No payments are collected through this Platform. Any compensation, project fees, or reimbursement terms are defined in individual agreements between Codenecting, students, and clients. Those agreements will govern invoicing, payment schedules, and refund policies.

10. Liability

  • The Platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
  • To the fullest extent permitted by law, Codenecting is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform.
  • Codenecting takes responsibility for delivery risk directly in its client contracts. Students who fail to deliver may face Platform penalties such as reduced access to future projects or removal from the program.

11. Suspension and termination

  • Codenecting may suspend or terminate Platform access for any user, company, or student that violates these Terms, a separate agreement, or applicable law.
  • We may terminate a student-client pairing if performance or conduct risks the project outcome.
  • You may stop using the Platform at any time; to request data deletion, contact students@codenecting.com.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Any disputes relating to the Platform will be handled exclusively by the competent courts of the Netherlands.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect new features or legal requirements. If the changes materially affect your rights, we will provide reasonable notice via email or by posting an update on this page. Your continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

14. Contact
